Date: 2010-10-07
The NFL is going to attempt to galvanise support for American football in the UK with a live brand experience in London's Trafalgar Square. Players from the US team the San Francisco 49ers will go on the offensive, launching the first ever UK fan rally for the sport. The free one-day live brand experience, which is being organised by NFL UK, comes ahead of the next big American football game at Wembley Stadium between the 49ers and the Denver Broncos. Attendees of the live brand experience will get a chance to meet the players, enjoy some live music, eat traditional American food and watch an NFL cheerleader performance. NFL UK managing director Alistair Kirkwood said: "It's a historic, can't-miss event. "This is the first event of its kind and we are very excited to showcase the passion, excitement and colour of the NFL to a broad range of people." Earlier this year, popular US beverage manufacturer PepsiCo launched a Mountain Dew live brand experience campaign in the UK, with the drink's owner claiming the marketing campaign would cement its reputation as a top-flight drinks brand.
