Live brand experience: Stompin' at the Savoy returns with Paloma Faith
Date: 2011-10-27
Paloma Faith is to be the first to grace the stage as the iconic Stompin' at the Savoy returns to the hotel's Lancaster Ballroom. This live brand experience which is reminiscent of 1940s decadent late night supper clubs is a resurrection of performances at the hotel by the likes of Frank Sinatra, George Gershwin and Noel Coward. Staying faithful to the Savoy's jazz music roots, Ms Faith will perform with a 30-piece orchestra, as guests are served champagne, cocktails and a late night supper. More contemporary artists are expected to appear on the line up following Paloma Faith and the Guy Barker will lead the house orchestra at each event. The Savoy has just undergone a £100 million restoration, which has preserved the hotel's original art deco and Edwardian features, as well as bringing it up to date with the latest design developments. Kiaran MacDonald, general manager of the Savoy, said: "No other London hotel enjoys the reputation the Savoy has for live entertainment." |
